Music
Music is an extremely important part of school life at North Bridge House. We run a very active and productive music department.
In the lower prep pupils have two music lessons per week. One lesson is a music lesson devoted to topics like composition and keyboard skills. In the second lesson two classes are combined for class singing.
In the upper prep pupils have one music lesson per week.
We offer individual music lessons in a range of different instruments including: Piano, Violin, Guitar, Trumpet, French horn, Flute and Saxophone. We also have a string orchestra which meets twice a week.
In the Lower Prep each year group takes part in an end of term musical production.
The Prep School has two choirs. A chamber choir for pupils in years 6, 7and 8 and a Prep school choir which includes pupils from the whole school. The Prep School choir has a supported the charity Cancer Bacup for the last five years by performing at a charity event which is held at Hamleys Toy Shop.
In December and July we have our prep school concerts in which the choirs and orchestra perform. Children who play instruments are also encouraged to take part.
We try and arrange at least one musical outing per term.
