NBH Shoot to Third in the North London Independent School Netball Tournament
On the last day of February, the North Bridge House Under 13 Netball team competed alongside six other teams in the North London Independent School Netball Tournament, hosted by St John’s School.
The standard of netball was high across the group, which included: St John’s School, Dwight School A, Dwight School B, The King’s School, St Aubyn’s and Sherrardswood School, as well as NBH .
North Bridge House stormed ahead from the get-go, with a 7-1 win over Dwight A. Our second match was a close call but the girls clinched a well earned victory over St Aubyn’s, winning 3-2.
The team were now going from strength to strength, thinking about their technique and tactics as they played another tough game against Sherrardswood, managing to secure a 2-2 draw.
The next match was an impressive 9-0 win over Dwight B, which really helped to boost the girls’ confidence again. However, the last two games were tougher. The King’s School were a fantastic match and there was a lot of great passing and dodging from both teams, but North Bridge House narrowly lost by 2 points to 1.
We faced the host school, St John’s, in our final match and they were a very strong side. We put up a good fight but unfortunately lost 1-5.
Overall, North Bridge House were delighted to come third, having racked up an impressive 19 points.
Mrs O’Keefe, PE teacher at North Bridge House Senior School, was very proud of the girls’ achievements. Well done to the whole team: Livia Marsoni (Captain), Connie Yager, Mimi Bailey, Francesca Peluso, Maya Isiksalan, Nell Conron, Taisia Arsenenko, Romy Levin, Georgie Wilson, Grace Hammond. Special mentions go to Livia for her consistently good shooting and to Mimi for her strong, reliable defence work.
