Learn more about the history of North Bridge House School

1939

North Bridge House School is founded in St. John’s Wood.

1950s

The School moves to leafy Netherhall Gardens in Hampstead.

1960s

North Bridge House is re-organised and the older Preparatory School pupils move into two Nash houses near Regent’s Park, whilst the Junior School remains in Netherhall Gardens.

1960s

North Bridge House Nursery School opens on Fitzjohn’s Avenue in a charming Victorian villa, previously known as Stepping Stones Nursery School.

1987

North Bridge House acquires a beautiful old convent on Gloucester Avenue, providing a new location for its Prep School and allowing the group to open a Senior School, extending its offering to GCSE.

July

2012

North Bridge House Senior School celebrates 25 years of academic excellence and merges with The Royal School Hampstead, moving to its current home, 65 Rosslyn Hill.

December

2012

The Senior School gains planning permission for a new Sports Hall which will complete the site’s state-of-the-art-facilities.

November

2014

North Bridge House acquires a stunning Grade II listed building in Islington for a new Senior School and Sixth Form, allowing pupils to complete their A-Levels at North Bridge House and completing the group’s portfolio.

June

2014

Former Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European triple jump champion, Jonathan Edwards, CBE opens the Senior School’s new multi-purpose Sports Hall.

September

2014

North Bridge House Senior School & Sixth Form Canonbury opens – the first independent Senior School in Islington – allowing NBH pupils to complete their education from Nursery through to Sixth Form without the added pressure of entrance exams.

January

2015

North Bridge House Junior School is renamed North Bridge House Pre-Preparatory School to better reflect its status as an independent school, and its function: to excellently prepare children for the Prep School.

June

2015

North Bridge House Senior School & Sixth Form Canonbury is awarded Outstanding in all areas in its first Ofsted inspection, just nine months after opening.

June 2016

North Bridge House Canonbury announce the addition of Year 7 from September 2017, to meet the growing demands of the local community.
