Hampstead Summer Festival: North Bridge House Choir Children Wow Hometown Crowd
On Sunday 1 July, North Bridge House Pre-Prep and Prep School choir children took to the stage of Hampstead Summer Festival, entertaining the crowd of hundreds that flocked to the eighth annual event. With over 100 stalls, a fun fair and street circus, North Bridge House children provided live music and entertainment for the bustling Heath Street.
North Bridge House Prep students opened the festival with their three mini choirs of talented boys and girls from Years 4, 5 and 6. The crowd of parents, friends and festival goers really enjoyed their selection of songs: The Year 4 choir performed Mmmm Bop by Hanson, Year 5 sang Keep the Faith by Michael Jackson and J Fulleylove’s version of This Old Man, whilst the Year 6 girls were a big hit with I Say a Little Prayer by Aretha Franklin.
The pupils across all three choirs had been rehearsing since the beginning of the year.
Next on stage were 15 pupils from the NBH Pre-Prep who sang their hearts out to Eye of the Tiger, These Boots Are Made For Walking and A Million Dreams, to name just a few. The children really enjoyed performing on such a big stage in front of friends and family. Music Teacher Mr Jones said:
“We all had a great time at the festival and the children have been practicing for a weeks now. They will also perform at the graduation ceremony events at the Nursery next week, in front of their fellow students’.
Thank you to all of our pupils who performed on the very hot day, their teachers who supported them throughout rehearsals and performances, and to all fellow entertainers and exhibitors who worked hard to make the Hampstead Summer Festival such a fantastic event.
