Hindleap Warren 2017
This term, Year 7 students from North Bridge House Senior Hampstead visited Hindleap Warren, a residential outdoor activity centre set in the beautiful Sussex countryside. Lead by Head of Year 7, Mrs Revie, all 62 students travelled to Hindleap Warren to explore the range of exciting activities from Bush Craft to High Wire Adventure.
Pupils arrived at Hindleap to be met with their first task: making their own beds. After successfully completing their first challenge it was on with the wellies and waterproofs and out into the beautiful grounds of Hindleap. During the three-day trip, pupils got to try a wide range of activities. Bush Craft (making shelters and lighting fires using flint and kindling), Forest Adventure (a walking tour of the forest that follows the natural streams, so we all returned very muddy), Team Exercise (leading a partner blind folded through an obstacle course), Climbing Tower, Archery and High Adventure (having to navigate a raised obstacle course while attached to a safety wire). For evening entertainment, students enjoyed board games and even took part in their very own talent show one night!
All of the staff both at the centre and from NBH were so impressed with the Year 7s. They were so supportive of one another, and were collaborative, enthusiastic and really rose to the challenge. Their behaviour was excellent and they really made the most of the experience, taking the opportunity to make new friends and to develop their independence and resilience.
