NBH Leadership Update
We are very pleased to announce some forthcoming changes to leadership within the North Bridge House Group from September 2017.
North Bridge House Senior School, Hampstead
Mrs Georgina Masefield will be leaving North Bridge House Senior School at the end of the summer term 2017. Georgina will be moving to lead one of the all-age schools which is part of the Cognita family: Akeley Wood Junior and Senior School in Buckinghamshire. Georgina has been Headteacher at North Bridge House Senior School since April 2013 and in that time has overseen a remarkable transformation at the school both academically and in the quality and appearance of its accommodation. Georgina brings enormous energy and determination to all she does. She is driven by what is best for the pupils in her care. She has impacted positively on both her staff and on the lives of so many young people and has decided it is time to move on and take up the challenge of leading a larger, all-through school. She will be greatly missed.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Brendan Pavey as Headteacher of North Bridge House Senior School from September 2017. Brendan is currently the Headteacher at Long Close School in Slough where he has been the Head for four years. Brendan started his teaching career as a Geography teacher at Colfe’s School in 1997, leaving in 2004 to become Head of Geography at Shiplake College. In 2010 he was promoted to Head of Sixth Form, after which he took up the Headship at Long Close School in 2013. Under his stewardship the school gained an outstanding inspection and now boasts an enviable reputation for its academic achievements in a nurturing and caring environment.
Brendan is a highly respected and experienced Headteacher. He combines two essential leadership characteristics: the ability to create a vision and drive the school forward, underpinned by humility and the ability to listen and value the contribution of each person. Brendan is married with four children aged from 10 to 16.
As colleagues at Cognita, Brendan and Georgina will be able to work closely to ensure a seamless transition for North Bridge House Senior School. He will be arranging to meet with pupils, staff and parents this term as well as attending school events.
Leadership in the North Bridge House Group
We are making a change to the leadership within the North Bridge House Group by appointing Jonathan Taylor as the Collegiate Headteacher within the group. Jonathan will continue as the substantive Headteacher of North Bridge House Canonbury. The role of Collegiate Headteacher is a new role and will involve co-ordinating the development of educational best practice across the North Bridge House group. For clarity, each Headteacher remains the leader of each school within the group and is the point of contact for parents.
