North Bridge House Senior Hampstead students celebrate GCSE achievements
Students from North Bridge House Senior Hampstead are celebrating excellent GCSE results, with over 97% achieving a “good pass” at the new Grade 4+ and, most impressively, 55% achieving a Grade 7 or above (the equivalent of an ‘A’ or higher).
Overall, 31% of all grades achieved were an 8 or 9, the latter being the equivalent of an A** to show exceptional performance.
While a significant 16% of all grades achieved were a 9 – compared to 4.5% nationally – a remarkable number of grades were awarded at 7+ in the sciences, totalling 95% in Biology, 90% in Chemistry and 90% in Physics. An impressive 50% of students achieved the top Grade 9 in Physics, continuing to build on the school’s outstanding performance in this field.
The school’s impressive number of high grades continued in Maths, with 40% of students awarded an 8 or 9. 88.3% of students in Maths and 91% in English achieved a “strong pass” at Grade 5+.
NBH Senior Hampstead also saw particularly high results across languages, with 69% of grades awarded at 7+ in French and 62% in Spanish.
Star student Anders Erlandson particularly excelled, gaining a complete set of nine Grade 9s across a range of subjects, including Geography, History, Latin and Spanish. Anders is one of very few pupils to score so highly across the country and is looking forward to continuing his education with A Level studies in Biology, Chemistry, Geography and History.
Lily Knight and Matt Wall also achieved exceptional results, with Matt boasting eight Grade 9s and a Grade 8 and Lily gaining seven Grade 9s and two Grade 8s. High performers also included Head Girl, Francesca Peluso, who achieved an entire set of Grades 7 to 9 in addition to the A* she was awarded in Italian last year.
Brendan Pavey, Head of North Bridge House Senior School, said:
“It is a pleasure to celebrate with our staff and students who have worked so hard to achieve these results. My congratulations go to all of our GCSE students and I wish them every success as they take their next steps into A Levels and beyond. I look forward to welcoming a number of our students to our sister school, North Bridge House Senior Canonbury, for Sixth Form in September.”
