Nursery School Workshops: A Parent’s Guide to Inspire Early Years Learning at Home

Understand and Enhance Your Child’s Learning Journey

The lessons children learn in their primary years of education are fundamental preparation for the journey ahead and prime opportunity to instil a positive attitude towards learning. At North Bridge House Nursery School we strive to motivate and challenge pupils from their very first days with us, bringing mum, dad, grandma and grandpa along for the ride.

Parental and family engagement is a great way to grow children’s sense of enquiry and encourage their academic progress, supporting them throughout the inevitable and invaluable mistakes they’ll make as they develop.  To enable our parents to experience as much of their child’s personal and academic growth as possible, we have launched parent workshops for all our Pre-Reception (ages 3 to 4) classes, from which we will share activities that every Early Years parent can try at home.

These workshops are led by our Head of Nursery and Pre-Reception, Miss Jackson and aim to demonstrate to parents the unique ways in which their children learn vital core skills in class. Better still, they’re the perfect opportunity for parents to participate in their children’s learning journeys, sharing and celebrating more of those proud moments of achievement!

Miss Jackson runs the sessions in class groups, starting with a brief presentation to identify the specific teaching methods each workshop will explore, and why our innovative approach is so effective.  We know that education doesn’t begin and end in school, so our workshops try to inspire parents with different ways to further their child’s learning at home.
