Welcome to the Upper School at Regent’s Park Prep
The Upper School is home to Years 7 and 8 (ages 11-13) at Regent’s Park Prep. Here, students looking to transition to 13+ senior schools are presented with every opportunity to build confidence and higher-level thinking skills.
Our two-year Upper School programme provides students pursuing 13+ senior school pathways with unrivalled academic and personal development. Beyond rigorous preparation for Common Entrance examinations (the exams set by the Independent Schools Examinations Board as part of the selective admissions process at age 13), students benefit from an incredible breadth of co-curricular activities, which maximise skill set and grow talent.
Upper Prep students are often awarded scholarship entry to UK leading senior schools further to excellence in an academic, creative or sporting field.
Academic rigour meets co-curricular brilliance
The Year 7 and 8 curriculum at Regent’s Park Prep provides a unique and enriching experience for students. Advanced GCSE content is integrated into lessons, whilst a wealth of co-curricular activities enhance students’ learning in meaningful ways.
Beyond problem-solving techniques in maths or climate change analysis in geography, for example, active participation in the UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge and trips to Italy and Iceland develop students’ knowledge way beyond traditional classroom learning.
Our 11+ programme is dedicated to preparing students for highly competitive senior schools in every aspect. Whether students are partaking in national competitions like the Townsend-Warner History Prize, or PE units in outdoor adventure sports like rock-climbing and kayaking, they benefit from every opportunity to showcase academic excellence and strength of character.
