Summer Art Exhibition Marks 30 Years of North Bridge House Senior School

NBH Senior Celebrates in Style with Special Guest

On Friday 30th June, we celebrated 30 years of North Bridge House Senior School with a Royal Academy-inspired Summer Art Exhibition. Pupils, parents and staff at our Senior Hampstead site were excited to welcome Mr Brendan Pavey, the new Head Teacher at NBH Senior from this September, as guest of honour.

As the sounds of summer jazz filled the air, over 400 pupils, parents and staff from the school marked 30 years of NBH Senior by showcasing exciting new talent from our famously creative students. With over 200 works, including watercolour paintings, photography and film, there really was something for everyone to enjoy and the school was thrilled to exhibit work donated by NBH parent Julian Opie, established star of the art world.

This event was very special for the Senior School and our current Head Teacher, Mrs Georgina Masefield, who welcomed incoming Head Mr Brendan Pavey as guest of honour, ahead of her handover. Mrs Masefield leaves North Bridge House Senior School at the end of the summer term after four years in post, having made a hugely positive impact, overseeing a remarkable transformation both academically and in the quality of our facilities. Georgina will be moving on to lead another school within the Cognita family: Akeley Wood Junior and Senior School in Buckinghamshire.

Mrs Masefield said:

“It has been such a privilege to be able to celebrate 30 years of NBH Senior at this inspiring event, which also marks for me the end of a memorable four years here at North Bridge House. I am so proud of our students here – particularly their energy and creativity, on display so visibly here this evening! I will very much miss every single one of them and of course the dedicated NBH team, however, I know that I am leaving them in very capable hands with Mr Pavey and that there are many more adventures ahead for the school as it goes from strength to strength.”

NBH announced the appointment of Mr Brendan Pavey as Head Teacher of our Hampstead Senior School in April this year.  Mr Pavey is a highly respected and experienced Head Teacher, currently Head at Cognita’s Long Close School in Slough where he has been in post for four years. Under his stewardship, the school has gained an outstanding inspection and an enviable reputation for its academic achievements in a nurturing and caring environment – something very much in alignment with our ethos at North Bridge House.

Mr Pavey said:

“The exhibition this evening has not only further opened my eyes to the amazing talent and creativity of the students at North Bridge House Senior Hampstead, but has also allowed me to experience the incredible sense of community and camaraderie here between pupils, parents and teachers.  Mrs Masefield has built a wonderful school with many dedicated people and I look forward to getting to know them all and to learning from them, as well as exploring ways in which we can keep NBH improving each and every day.”
