Year 11 Win Inspiring Futures Competition
Congratulations to North Bridge House Senior Canonbury Year 11 pupils: Samira B, Tyler H, William M and Georgia M-N, who have won Cognita’s Inspiring Futures ‘Project Consultancy’ competition: an incredible achievement!
To win, the students produced an audio-visual Dragon’s Den style pitch for a new app called Interior Lens. The group’s business proposition was ‘users use real images to help you find unique objects to personify your home while supporting local and sustainable small businesses’ .
The challenge for the pitch itself had the team members creating the idea and deciding on each of their business roles: Creative Design Executive (Tyler), Marketing Advisor (William), Chief Technology Officer (Samira), and CEO (Georgia).
The team started by deciding on their company mission ‘to create an easy and affordable search engine with access to sustainable and local businesses, to provide a unique home for all’. They then identified their company’s values, striving to provide ‘affordable and quality design bespoke to users’, while ‘supporting local businesses’ and upholding ‘quality customer service and communication with customers.’ Next, they identified their unique selling proposition, constructed a Porter’s Value Proposition Canvas, considered a social media marketing strategy and finally formulated the financials.
Truly, it was a comprehensive pitch and the team demonstrated great leadership and entrepreneurial skills. What a way to finish Year 11! A BIG well done from Mr Doherty, Ms Bailey, and Mr Xerikos, who were the teacher sponsors of the group.
North Bridge House Senior Canonbury students achieved highly impressive GCSE results despite the challenge of lockdown, with an overall 66% achieving Grade 7 or above (the equivalent of an ‘A’ or higher) and 24% making the top Grade 9. North Bridge House Senior Canonbury’s best A Level results yet saw 34% of A*/A grades and 21% of all students scoring straight As or higher.
