WELCOME TO NORTH BRIDGE HOUSE
North Bridge House has been shaping outstanding education in North London for over 80 years.
In September 2025, our Regent’s Park campus became Alleyn’s Regent’s Park, joining the Alleyn’s Schools Group and offering an exceptional education for ages 4–11 – a partnership founded on shared values of academic ambition, opportunity and care. Our Hampstead campuses will follow in September 2026, transitioning to become Alleyn’s Hampstead, an all-through school for ages 2–18.
Today, North Bridge House Canonbury stands as a thriving Senior and Sixth Form for students aged 11 to 18 in the heart of Islington – delivering academic excellence, a close-knit community and the confidence for every student to discover their own path to success.

What’s coding without learning to think one step ahead?
Yesterday, our Year 1 & 2 pupils took part in a hands-on workshop with Matt Lovegrove, Cognita’s Digital Learning Advisor, exploring coding through CodeMonkey, an award-winning platform that teaches children real coding languages like CoffeeScript and Python through playful, interactive games.
During this session, pupils used CodeMonkey Jr., a bright and engaging early-years version of the programme where they learn the basics of coding through simple block-based commands. Guiding a monkey through colourful levels, collecting bananas and unlocking treasure helped them practise sequencing, spatial reasoning and logical thinking in a fun, age-appropriate way. 💻🐒
At this age, coding introduces so much more than technology - it nurtures persistence, creativity and the confidence to try, test and try again. It was wonderful to see pupils helping one another, testing ideas and celebrating every step forward! 💡🌱

A brilliant day of swimming for our students!
Year 8 student George and Year 9 student Martin joined Year 11 Yasmin in representing London North at this year’s ISA National Swim Competition.
It was an exciting opportunity for our swimmers to compete at a national level, challenge themselves against other top competitors, and gain valuable race experience.
Events competed in:
🏊♂️ George - 200m Year 8 Boys Freestyle Team and 200m Medley Team
🏊♂️ Martin - Year 9/10 Boys Butterfly 50m and 200m Medley Team
🏊♀️ Yasmin - 200m Year 11/13 Girls’ Medley Team
A huge well done to all three swimmers for their commitment and for representing the school with such pride. 👏

Before half term, our school marked Mental Health Day, taking part in HelloYellow - an annual campaign by the charity YoungMinds that raises awareness and vital funds for young people’s mental health.
Yellow socks and ribbons served as a reminder of the importance of open and honest conversations about mental health. Throughout the day, various activities were held to educate, inspire and engage, helping to deepen understanding and encourage meaningful discussion across the school community.
Collaborative art, seed-planting in the garden, and reflective tasks all contributed to breaking down stigma and strengthening the sense of support we share. 💛

A super week of kindness!
Nursery and Pre-Prep spent the week championing kindness in celebration of Anti-Bullying Week and World Kindness Day, kicking things off with a colourful Odd Socks Day to celebrate what makes each of us unique.
Our young superheroes designed capes for their teachers, teamed up across year groups, and filled their kindness charts with compliments, helping hands and thoughtful gestures. It’s been a week filled with creativity and connection - proving that kindness really does make the world brighter. 🦸♂️🧦🤝🌈

Lest we forget. 🌺
In the lead-up to Remembrance Day, our Nursery and Pre-Prep pupils created beautiful poppy wreaths to display on each classroom door across the school. Through this thoughtful, sensory activity, they learned about the importance of remembering and honouring those who served - and did such a wonderful job creating something special together.

Storytelling came to life on Tuesday as our Year 7 students were joined by Year 5 students from @GatehouseSch for an inspiring author visit with Zohra Nabi! ✨📚
Zohra inspired everyone with tales from her novels, The Deep Dark, the first in The Cassia Thorne Mysteries series, and The Kingdom Over the Sea. She also spoke about what first sparked her love for writing, as well as the inspirations behind her characters and stories.
Our students, and our visiting friends from Gatehouse, asked lots of questions, explored their own creative ideas, and were thrilled to have their copies signed by Zohra.
Opportunities like these not only ignite a love of reading but also show students what’s possible when imagination and determination meet - a truly memorable afternoon for our young writers and readers. 📖💫
