From a nurturing start to school life in The Nest, through an increasingly rigorous, specialist taught curriculum (incorporating everything from Mandarin to Politics, Philosophy and Economics), we thoroughly prepare pupils for the senior school best suited to their individual strengths and interests – expertly facilitating all 11+, 13+, or through school journeys.

On Tuesday, our Year 10 Photography students kicked off the new term with an inspiring visit to two of London’s most renowned art spaces: @thephotographersgallery and @nationalportraitgallery. The trip was all about finding inspiration and gaining new perspectives for their ongoing Portrait Project.

At The Photographers’ Gallery, they explored bold exhibitions showcasing unique storytelling through the lens, sparking conversations about technique and creativity. Over at the National Portrait Gallery, our students explored centuries of portraiture, discovering how context and expression have shaped this timeless art form.

It was a day filled with discovery and fresh ideas, and we can’t wait to see how these experiences shape their own work. Parents, ask your child what caught their eye - whether it was a particular piece or a new way of thinking about portraits! 📸🎞️

They explored the wildlife exhibits, meeting animals, before heading to a heart warming Santa workshop, where they helped spread Christmas cheer in the most delightful ways.

The trip blended the magic of the season with the excitement of discovery. Thank you to London Zoo for making the holidays extra special for our little ones!

Our visiting students joined Year 5 art lessons, offering guidance and encouragement while sharing their top tips. As a thoughtful gesture, they rewarded the younger pupils with personalised postcards.

The visit also included a gelli-printing workshop led by Mr Columb, our Head of Art, where they made snowflakes with intricate detailing. For many Ambassadors, this visit was a poignant return to their school journey as alumni, reconnecting with former teachers and revisiting cherished memories of their time at the Prep School. They explored a range of fascinating exhibits, attended an engaging artefact workshop, and marvelled at ancient treasures, including some of the finest Roman mosaics. The experience also included a visit to the remains of a Roman villa in Verulamium Park, offering a unique glimpse into the wonders of Roman life.
