Here at North Bridge House Senior Hampstead, we believe in the importance of educating the whole child so that his or her true potential can be fulfilled. We strive to build character and develop skills in our students, by providing a breadth of learning experience that takes them way beyond than the curriculum itself.
From our timetabled enrichment programme to as many as 50 school trips a year, students are immersed in opportunities and cultures which widen their global perspective and broaden their future horizons. Our great range of after school clubs caters for all creative, musical, sporting and STEM interests, while nationally recognised programmes such as LAMDA and DofE further develop talent and teamwork.
Students also lead on and participate in a range of charitable events, and many join our Sustainability and Pride & Diversity Councils to contribute to our universally aware and inclusive school community.

After school clubs
Extra-curricular clubs are offered at lunchtime and after school for all Years 7 to 11. Clubs rotate on a termly basis to ensure there is something which appeals to everyone, while those that are most popular and always in season feature year-round.
With everything from tennis and yoga, architecture and robotics, to the student newspaper and allotment teams, our diverse extra-curricular offering develops varying skills and interests among our student body. Various choir, instrumental and Rock School groups also enjoy rehearsing after school and performing in annual productions.
Enrichment programme
Our timetabled enrichment programme sees students explore activities beyond the conventional curriculum in vertical age groupings, providing opportunities and experiences that inspire and develop the individual, as well as enhance university and job applications.
We dedicate one lesson per week to our enrichment programme and each term, pupils choose from an exhaustive list of around 25 activities, which can include: engineering, chess, yoga, sports leadership, ethics, astronomy, literary genre, ancient cultures, dance, song writing and costume design.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award is very popular with North Bridge House students and every year, pupils embark on this nationally recognised programme – which is highly regarded by employers, colleges and universities – with the help and supervision of our specially trained staff.
DofE is a particularly rewarding programme, growing strength of character as students work towards progressive levels of achievement: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The various Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition sections of the programme see students work both independently and as part of a team, embracing challenges and making memories for life.
World of work
Every term, we host a number of guest speakers, workshops and events, which give students an authentic insight into a range of industries and workplaces. From the world of ancient Greece to an astronaut’s view on the future of space travel, talks and events explore scientific research, fiction-writing, charitable enterprise and politics, as well as topics studied within the curriculum.
Year 10 pupils also benefit from our live interview forum, known as the ‘World of Work’, which offers a privileged glimpse into the realm of employment and supports GCSE students’ work experience selection.
