WELCOME TO HAMPSTEAD SENIOR AND SIXTH FORM
At NBH Hampstead Senior School and Sixth Form (becoming Alleyn’s Hampstead in September 2026), children aged 11-18 are immersed in the widest range of subject experience, delivered by an inspiring team of teachers who are dedicated to finding and maximising the strengths of each individual. A stone’s throw from North London’s famous Hampstead High Street, we are rooted in the rich local heritage of Hampstead village and alive with a unique creative energy. Underpinning our rich curricular and extra-curricular offering, our ‘high support, low pressure’ model helps every student achieve more than they believed possible, celebrating outcomes which way surpass their academic trajectories at the point of entry.
ENRICHED AND EXPERIENTIAL
The curriculum at Hampstead Senior School is much more than a programme of study; it prioritises breadth of knowledge, diverse experience and cross-disciplinary thinking. Beyond our brilliant Visual Arts department which contributes to our culture of creativity, we embed innovative ways of doing things across the entire curriculum. Students embrace constant opportunities to present and perform, whilst enrichment activities span everything from philosophy to sustainability.
WHERE EXCELLENCE MEETS OPPORTUNITY
We’re excited to announce our new Sixth Form, offering holistic university preparation in the heart of Hampstead, is opening in September 2025.
With flexible curriculum, personalised learning, and a robust careers and university preparation programme, we welcome you to discover your True North at our Sixth Form.
TEACHING WITH A DIFFERENCE
Our mission is to ensure that teaching is not only tailored to the individual but is progressive in bringing to life our diverse curriculum. Our staff are truly dedicated to inspiring a lifelong love of learning and enjoyment of their subjects, and weekly CPD supports their commitment to being the best at getting better. Many of them bring not only teaching expertise but industry experience, sharing transferable skills and insight into successful careers in competitive sectors.

We are delighted to announce that Mr David Gaffney will be joining NBH Nursery & Pre-Prep Hampstead as our new Deputy Head of Strategy and Innovation from September 2025.
David brings with him a wealth of experience from leading independent schools, including his current role as Assistant Head and Deputy DSL at Brighton College Prep. His impressive background also includes key leadership roles at St George’s Windsor Castle, where he played a key role in implementing the strong curriculum programmes, bringing a strong balance of academic rigour and real-world relevance. As well as founding work with international schools such as North London Collegiate School Jeju and Brighton College Singapore. A brilliant couple of days on the track and field! 🏃♂️💥
Our students recently gave it their all at the ISA Nationals and the London Schools Championships, and came away with some outstanding results:
🥈Patrick - 2nd in Javelin
🥉Alexander - 3rd in Javelin & 3rd in the 800m
🏅David - 4th in the 100m
To even qualify for these events is an achievement in itself, so a huge well done to everyone who competed. You continue to make us proud at every competition! 👏

Our parents are a huge part of what makes NBH Hampstead Senior such a supportive and inspiring place to learn. Their feedback helps us grow, reflect, and stay connected to what matters most.
Here are just a few things they’ve shared with us recently. 🤍📣

Yesterday’s MasterChef Tournament saw a group of our talented Year 7 and 8 students step up to the plate, and what a feast they created!
They cooked up incredible dishes including smash burgers with chips and salad, shakshuka, eggs benedict with bacon and hollandaise sauce, Russian kotleta with mashed potatoes, traditional English breakfast, spaghetti with meatballs, and Japanese souffle omelettes.
For the final challenge, everyone baked a classic Victoria Sponge cake, and the results were just as impressive as the mains!
A huge congratulations to our winner, Maria! Every student should be proud of their delicious efforts. 👏👩🍳

Yesterday’s Trooping the Colour tea party brought the whole school together in true celebratory spirit, marking the King’s official birthday. Each class created their own decorated bunting and handmade hats, which brought lots of colour and celebration to the top playground. And over tea, sandwiches and cake, our pupils came together to sing Happy Birthday to the King.
It was a lovely way to combine creativity and community spirit, and everyone had a lovely afternoon celebrating. 🇬🇧🎉

Our Year 2 pupils showed off their skills at the ISA Sports Day, competing alongside 18 other schools in javelin throwing, sprinting, relays, and more! Their determination and sportsmanship were shining through, and now they’re all set for Sports Day tomorrow! Let the games begin! 🏅🏃♀️

What a day on the track as our athletes did us proud at the ISA London North Athletics Tournament right before half term, competing against 36 schools and showing serious skill, sportsmanship, and determination.
A special congratulations to Alexander for taking gold in both the 1500m and long jump, William for sprinting to gold in the 100m, and Patrick for topping the javelin - all qualifying for the national finals! 👏
We also saw a fantastic sweep of silvers and bronzes across events including the 800m, discus, and relays, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed for more national invitations to come.
Incredible performances from a talented team. Well done to everyone!
