North Bridge House Nursery Curriculum
North Bridge House Nursery School houses three year groups: Nursery; Pre-Reception and Reception, and prepares children for the years ahead with a wonderful introduction to school life.
Children in Nursery, Pre-Reception and Reception follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, which covers seven key areas:
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Literacy
Communication and Language
Mathematics
Understanding the World
Physical Development (Gym and Dance)
Expressive Arts and Design (including Music)
Children in our Nursery Year cover a wide range of curricular topics from shape and colour to weather and the seasons. Daily story time and outdoor play, as well as weekly gym and music sessions are also factored into the curriculum, providing children with a fully rounded education and helping to develop their social skills at this important young age.

Pre-Reception and Reception
In Pre-Reception and Reception, we continue to explore the key EYFS areas using a variety of specialist teaching methods both in and out of the classroom. We fully immerse children in a specific topic for half a term, linking each area of learning to this topic, which accelerates pupils’ development and takes them beyond the curriculum into a wider learning experience.
