We have developed our course over the years to encourage children’s remarkable progress whilst retaining their interest in the game. At the same time as teaching the tactics of the game we ensure that the children become good sportspersons.

Cookery Club (Year 2)

Cookery Club takes place every week on Friday. It is an opportunity for Year 2 pupils to discover the science and pleasure of cooking for themselves. They learn about the importance of nutrition, as well as the many different tastes and ingredients that make up the food we eat. We set the children practical challenges and encourage them to further their knowledge, skills and creativity.

Drama Club (Years 1 and 2)

Drama Club is intended to develop children’s performance skills as well as their confidence, articulation, communication, co-ordination and other life skills. It’s also guaranteed to be lots of fun!

We cover many different aspects of drama and encourage creative growth by giving children the chance to share their own ideas and perform in small groups. Over the course of the school year, original plays are created with the children and material is personalised for different groups. These plays are established through fun improvisation, then scripted and performed using props and costumes.

The club is run by Danny Grant Soccer School, which offers a range of football classes to boys and girls from age 3 to 7.  The team of experienced FA approved Football Coaches lead action-packed football sessions designed to turn energetic and enthusiastic youngsters into skillful, confident players.

Gymnastics is an all-round sport that develops strength, agility, flexibility and co-ordination. The after school club at North Bridge House is an excellent introduction to gymnastics. Children work on floor skills (i.e. handstands & cartwheels), bar work, vaulting and trampette work.

For children who excel in these sessions and who are interested in progressing from school to recreational or competitive gymnastics, the coach will recommend the best clubs to join depending on location.

They will be constructing different kits and then programming the completed projects using the school iPads.
The children will develop basic computer skills, work collaboratively with one another, and will face many obstacles which will allow them to develop their problem solving skills.

Zumba/Yoga (Years 1 & 2)

This is a fun, active and educational club that combines Zumba and Yoga for kids. Dancing to dynamic Zumba choreos with age-appropriate fitness moves will help children to feel physically refreshed after a long day and improve their mood. Zumba helps children’s bodies to relax and strengthen at the same time, improves their co-ordination and musicality and allows them to express emotion comfortably in front of others, growing their confidence levels. It makes them smile! And Yoga offers so many benefits – physically, mentally and emotionally. This Yoga class is designed around creative and fun asanas and breathing techniques, so that pupils can learn to love yoga from a very young age. Yoga practice helps children to become stronger, more flexible and teaches them how to relax, focus their minds and develop self-control.
