A to Z of After School Clubs
Art Club (Reception, Years 1 & 2)
If your child loves creating or inventing amazing works of art, they should join the Art Club. Taking inspiration from contemporary artists, we explore a wide range of fun, imaginative and creative activities, whilst honing our skills and learning new ways of working! There will be ample opportunity to practice 2D and 3D art forms and see how other artists have used them in their practice. The children will learn the value of never giving up, finding new ways to express themselves and, most of all, they’ll have loads of creative fun!

Ballet Club (Reception, Years 1 and 2)
The Ballet Club is run by Regal Ballet, a team of highly qualified, professional ballerinas who have danced with some of the best ballet companies in the world. Exams are offered through the reputable Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, but the primary focus of the club is to develop children’s joy and love of dance.
Chess Club (Reception, Years 1 and 2)
At Anu’s Chess Club, we make chess fun for children! Chess is an excellent activity for children to improve their analytical skills and learn how to focus and remain patient. We have developed our course over the years to encourage children’s remarkable progress, whilst retaining their interest in the game. At the same time as teaching the tactics of the game, we ensure the children become good sportspersons and organise prize-giving chess tournaments every term.
Cookery Club (All Year groups to have a term)
Cookery Club provides Year 2 pupils with an opportunity to discover the science and pleasure of cooking for themselves. They learn about the importance of nutrition, as well as the many different tastes and ingredients that make up the food we eat. We set the children practical challenges and encourage them to further their knowledge, skills and creativity. Cookery Club will be available to the following year groups: Autumn term 2021, Year 2; Spring Term 2022, Year 1 and Summer Term 2022, Reception.

Drama Club (Reception, Years 1 and 2)
Drama Club is intended to develop children’s performance skills as well as their confidence, articulation, communication, co-ordination and other life skills; it’s also guaranteed to be lots of fun!
We cover many different aspects of drama and encourage creative growth by giving children the chance to share their own ideas and perform in small groups. Over the course of the school year, original plays are created with the children and material is personalised for different groups. These plays are established through fun improvisation, then scripted and performed using props and costumes.
Football Club (Reception, Years 1 and 2)
Run by Danny Grant Soccer School, this club offers a range of football classes to boys and girls from age 3 to 7. The team of experienced FA approved Football Coaches lead action-packed football sessions designed to turn energetic and enthusiastic youngsters into skilful, confident players.
Each football session includes a variety of fun, fitness-based training drills and exercises, and then moves into training, matches and weekly tournaments.
Children are encouraged to progress at their own pace, developing their self-confidence, skills and mobility, in a safe and happy environment.
Gardening Club (Reception, Year 1 & 2)
Gardening Club aims to inspire children to learn about gardening, how to grow their own vegetables and fruit and how to create a perfect environment for the mini beasts that help protect our gardens. What could be more important than developing skills that will last a lifetime and promoting the benefits of healthy eating and living?
The club is a great way to get children exercising out in the fresh air, while planting and experiencing the world beyond the classroom as part of their learning and development. There will be lots of projects that will take place each term based on the season we are in.
We will be collecting seeds, planting bulbs for spring, learning about herbs that give flavour to our food, creating bug hotels or bird feeders and much more.

Gym Club (Years 1 and 2)
Gymnastics is an all-round sport that develops strength, agility, flexibility and co-ordination. The after-school club at North Bridge House is an excellent introduction to gymnastics. Children work on floor skills (i.e. handstands & cartwheels), bar work, vaulting and trampette work.
For children who excel in these sessions, and who are interested in progressing from school to recreational or competitive gymnastics, the coach will recommend the best clubs to join depending on location.
