WELCOME TO HAMPSTEAD NURSERY & PRE-PREP
At NBH Hampstead Nursery & Pre-Prep School (becoming Alleyn’s Hampstead in September 2026), children aged 2 to 7 are immersed in a wholly holistic education, delivered by a truly caring team of experienced staff and subject specialists, each dedicated to inspiring a curiosity for knowledge. In the heart of Hampstead and with our Nursery and Pre-Prep campuses just moments away from one another, we are a diverse yet tight-knit community with kindness at our core. Our nurturing setting and expertise in early childhood development see happy children thrive in the formative years of education, making significant progress as they discover their ‘True North’.
KNOWING THE INDIVIDUAL
We pride ourselves on really getting to know each individual child on their journey through Nursery & Pre-Prep, tailoring our approach to make our already warm environment optimal for every learner. Whether your child joins us the day they turn 2-years-old, at age 3, or 4+, they will thrive in our culture of care, where teachers create meaningful relationships to support the growth of confidence and resilience, and utilise high staff to pupil ratios to help every child achieve their full potential.
FOSTERING EXCELLENCE
Our wide and enriching learning experience sees children explore the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and Key Stage 1 core curricula and so much more. Subject specialist teaching sparks wonder in everything from drama and storytelling, music, gym and dance, to French, Italian and Forest School, providing a broad platform for academic and creative excellence and plenty of opportunity for children to develop their own passions and interests ahead of Prep School.
WE WOULD LOVE TO SHOW YOU AROUND
Join us at an Open Day to see the school in action, hear from the Head, and meet our brilliant staff and pupils. Private tours are available if you cannot make the next Open Day, or if you are looking for a mid-year or immediate vacancy. We are here to personalise your tour experience.
Our next open event:

Teaching, learning, and giving back in Malawi 🇲🇼
During the summer, our very own Mr. Amar and Ms. Oliver travelled to Zomba, a remote village in southern Malawi, to volunteer as teachers with @chifundofoundation, a small Irish charity founded by friends of theirs.
Over three weeks, they did an incredible job teaching 70 students at a Summer School - leading lessons in Maths, Geography, History, Economics, Science, Music and ICT, while helping older students prepare for college and university. In the afternoons, classrooms turned into enriching spaces for creativity, with netball, guitar lessons, crafts, dancing and even “Chifundo Cinema”, where Mr Amar brought a portable projector and DVDs all the way from the UK so the students could experience The Lion King and Harry Potter for the very first time.
When power allowed, they introduced students to donated laptops, a first-time experience for many, and were continually inspired by their positivity, gratitude, and determination to learn despite the frequent power cuts and limited resources.
One of the charity’s greatest successes has been the graduation of Davies, who joined the programme in 2006 and recently completed his degree at the University of Malawi with honours - a true inspiration for others.
Mr. Amar and Ms. Oliver’s work in Malawi reflects exactly the kind of empathy, curiosity, and community spirit we hope to inspire in every student. Thank you to our community for your support, from donating football shirts to the Year 8 bake sale which raised £200 to provide blankets for the students.
A huge well done to Mr. Amar and Ms. Oliver and the team for their inspiring work and the lasting impact they’ve made in Malawi - a true reflection of the NBH spirit. 💙

History is full of extraordinary stories waiting to be told and Black History Month is our chance to celebrate them.
Black History Month began in the UK in 1987, thanks to Akyaaba Addai-Sebo, inspired by the US observance founded by Carter G. Woodson in 1926. This year’s theme, “Standing Firm in Power and Pride,” recognises the resilience, leadership, and rich cultural legacy of Black communities across the UK.
In assembly, we explored the early presence of Black people in Britain and highlighted key figures such as Mary Seacole, the pioneering nurse and businesswoman, and Olaudah Equiano, the author and abolitionist. We also reflected on Black British culture today and discussed why learning about these histories matters; it promotes equality, inclusion, understanding, and unity, while recognising contributions that are often lesser-known.
This month gives us an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the voices, stories, and achievements that shape our society - an awareness and appreciation we actively celebrate throughout the year. 🌍🫱🏾🫲🏼

Our Nursery and Pre-Prep pupils brought the spirit of Carnival to school today, arriving in colourful clothing and bright smiles!
The day began with a colourful parade, with pupils proudly showing off their bright outfits before enjoying a range of activities inspired by Carnival celebrations across African and Caribbean cultures. In celebration of Black History Month, the event was a joyful way to learn about different traditions and the stories behind them - with a tasty Caribbean lunch to round off the day!
Celebrating occasions like this remind us how important it is to celebrate diversity and help our pupils appreciate the many cultures that shape our community. 🌍

This week we’ve been giving back and growing in kindness!
As part of our Harvest Festival Week, pupils have been collecting essential foods, toiletries, and tinned goods to support Food Bank Aid, a community-led charity that collects and distributes donations to those in need within our local community. Our pupils even designed posters to show which items were needed most, helping everyone contribute in a meaningful way. These activities help our children understand from an early age the importance of generosity, empathy, and supporting others.
The week concluded with a special Harvest assembly, where pupils reflected on the impact of their efforts and the value of community. It has been wonderful to see our everyone actively engaging in helping those less fortunate while celebrating the spirit of giving. 💛

This morning, we came together for a special Hello Yellow assembly, inspired by the YoungMinds campaign, to celebrate World Mental Health Day and support children and young people’s well-being.
Our students reflected on what mental health means, acknowledging that it’s normal to have both good and bad days. They explored how talking openly about feelings can break down stigma, and shared thoughtful ways to support themselves and each other through listening, checking in, showing kindness, and asking for help, which is a true sign of strength.
We’re also thrilled to share that, thanks to our students, staff, and families, we’ve raised a total of £3,719.80 for @youngmindsuk! 👏
Let’s make every day a ‘yellow day’ in spirit: full of kindness, empathy, and connection. 💛
