Our Sixth Form students are celebrating their A-Level results, with the Class of 2026 achieving excellent outcomes, especially in STEM, and securing places at Russell Group and other leading universities in the UK and Europe.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 students, who have shown true dedication, resilience and commitment throughout their time at NBH Canonbury.

This year, 29% of all grades were awarded at A-A*. Students achieved particularly strong results in STEM subjects, highlighting our commitment to STEM excellence.

Celebrating academic excellence

There were exceptional performances across a number of subjects, including the Arts with 100% of students achieving A*-A grades in Art and Music, and 67% A*-A grades in Further Maths.

Academic success at NBH is about more than a set of grades, and focuses on helping every student understand their strengths, pursue their interests and achieve beyond their starting point. Our results reflect not only the overall success of the cohort, but also the individual progress of each student.

With close-knit Sixth Form classes and a highly personalised approach to teaching, our students benefit from close relationships with their peers and tutors and individual academic support. Students typically study three A-Levels, with the opportunity to take a fourth subject depending on their GCSE results and ambitions, alongside the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

A range of exciting destinations

Our 2026 leavers have secured places at universities across the UK and abroad, with students progressing to Bristol, York, Queen Mary, Birmingham, Bath, University of Pisa (Italy), Liverpool and Brunel.

Each year our students will go on to study a range of subjects, reflecting the individual passions and ambitions they have developed during their time at Canonbury. This year’s cohort has a particular interest in STEM, with students moving on to pursue the following degree subjects: Engineering, Computer Science, Geography with Year Abroad, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Geography, Applied Anatomy, and Psychology.

Supporting every student

Outstanding outcomes do not happen in isolation. Throughout Sixth Form, our students receive personalised academic and university guidance designed around their individual ambitions. We support every student to find the right course at the right university for them, or advise on alternative pathways such as pursuit of the arts or apprenticeships.

Our Sixth Formers leave not only with strong academic results but with the confidence and independence needed to thrive at university and beyond.

Notable individual achievements

This year’s student cohort had a specific emphasis on STEM subjects, with many moving on to study mathematics and engineering.

One of our standouts was Niccolo who achieved an amazing A* A* A* A in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Music. Niccolo was active in our school leadership as House Captain for Orwell and is an avid musician and vocalist. He is currently deciding between University of Bath and University of Pisa (Italy) to study Mathematics!

After taking four STEM subjects, our student, Golden achieved a A* A* A* A in Computer Science, Physics, Maths, and Further Maths. Good luck Golden on your move to University of Bristol to study Mathematics!

We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to every member of the Class of 2026. We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved, and their individual journeys through their A-Level studies.
