Extra Curricular Clubs
Art, Drama, Music and Sport are key to both the curriculum and our extra-curricular offering at North Bridge House, whilst a whole host of exciting clubs such as Architecture, Italian, Touch Typing, Mandarin, Fencing, Ballet, Boxercise and Street Dance are popular break-time and after school activities.
We are also proud to boast five choirs, an orchestra, and several brass bands, and many pupils perform in our busy programme of concerts and productions throughout the school year.
Our rich and diverse variety of clubs builds on the curriculum to ensure that each child not only receives an excellent all-round education, but has the opportunity to discover and pursue other areas of inspiration.
Covid 19 Update: In order to minimise risk, during the Autumn term at least, after school clubs will be run within the year group bubbles and there will be no mixing between year groups.
Music is a large part of the vibrant life at North Bridge House, and is celebrated both within and beyond the curriculum. Whilst aiding brain development, improving memory and inspiring creativity with regular music lessons, we also host a variety of concerts and performances which grow children’s confidence and wow audiences of family and friends.
Introduced at the very beginning of pupils’ school career, music resonates from regular lessons in the Nursery through to GCSE and A-Level accomplishment.
When children reach the Prep School, there is a whole host of orchestral, woodwind and percussion groups available to join, as well as a great variety of instruments to learn. In addition to pupils’ curricular lesson, we offer expert one-to-one tuition in various musical instruments, through lessons with our visiting tutors (known as our peri music service). Lessons are available in several instruments and at all levels starting from complete beginner. Where appropriate pupils may also work towards graded examinations. Tuition takes place on site during school hours on a rotation basis to avoid the same lesson being missed each week.
We offer one-to-one lessons in:
- French Horn
Bookings are taken on annual basis via a form sent out by the Head of Music and are to be submitted before the beginning of the school year.
Covid 19 Update: In order to minimise risk, for the Autumn term at least, pupils will go to our dedicated music pods at their allotted time with their laptops and receive an online lesson with their peri teachers rather than face-to-face.
School Trips & Visits
Classroom learning and personal development are reinforced with regular school trips and outings. From virtual field trips and visits to the many great museums in our London vicinity, to adventures in France, Italy and Morocco, pupils explore many different cultural locations. Residential camps such as Bushcraft and PGL also teach the children different water sports and teamwork skills.
